Malini on Campaign Finance Reform

“Would I have begun to analyze the intricate details of our campaign finance system were I not a challenger running an uphill battle for elected office against a system that does not encourage outsiders to run? Probably not. But I hope that readers understand that my reason for writing is bigger than my own campaign: it is to make voters aware that if they want a real say in who runs for and is elected to public office — and if they want their voices to be heard more loudly on specific policy issues — they must start by calling for reform of the system itself.”
